Summer is here! After this past year, I know we are all ready for a break and to soak up the warm summer weather. And after a year of increased screen time, you might be looking for some fun things for your kids to do without screen time. These ice cream playdough mats are a great and fun way to work on fine motor skills and it also includes numbers 1-20 for number recognition and counting.

These ice cream playdough mats include the numbers 1-20 and would be a really fun way to encourage your child to work on fine motor skills along with counting and number recognition.

Build an ice cream cone with your colored playdough on the empty ice cream cone on the right. Then make little circles with your play dough to count out each number in the squares on the bottom of the mat.

To use these mats, I would suggest printing on card stock paper, if you have it. If not, regular computer paper would work, and you could glue each page to a piece of colored construction paper to make it sturdier.

No matter what type of paper you use, I would suggest laminating the pages to get the most use out of them. If you are looking for a great home laminator that doesn’t cost a bunch, I highly suggest the one below. I use mine all the time and love it!
