This past week we finished our letter C activities for tot-school. Each week we are taking a letter and doing hands-on activities around it.
For each week of tot-school that I plan with the letter of the week theme, I divide into 8 sections with one activity per section for the week:
- Practical Life
- Fine Motor
- Gross Motor
- Reading & Math
- Craft (typically themed with our Bible lesson)
Items Needed for Letter C Tot-School Week
Each week I use our Weekly Homeschool Planner pre-school pages to plan out the week and also list out the items I need for each week. Here are this week’s items:

- Construction paper
- Paper scraps
- Large wooden trays (I use left over Melissa & Doug Trays or
- Fine motor tweezers
- Handwriting Without Tears Wood Piece Set for Capital Letters with letter cards

You can also check out our daily tot-school routine as well as our Montessori inspired tot-school space.
We were a little more laid back with the activities this week since daddy was home and we also had just a crazy week with the baby and sleep. There are definitely many other ideas you can add to fill in the week more.
Practical Life Skills Cutting Practice
I didn’t get a great picture of this, but I did share one on Instagram last week. Ellie used a pair of kid’s scissors and made snips on regular white paper. You could also use construction paper, yard, or any other items like that. You can check out my post on 5 ways to introduce scissor skills for more ideas. I also have a scissor practice packet available for subscribers.
Thankful for brooms this morning. She is finally concentrating well so I am letting her be. Starting our new #totschool letter C week with some cutting practice. #GrowHandsonKids
Fine Motor Skills Cloud Transfer Activity
I used a wooden tray, fine motor tongs, cotton balls, a silicon candy mold tray, and a wood bowl to set up this activity. Ellie used the tongs to transfer the cotton balls into the candy mold tray.
