Last week we made our sparkly winter 2 ingredient play dough and I wanted to add it to something extra fun for Ellie. I have been starting to do some invitation to play set ups in our routine, so I thought I would share this one with you all.

Winter Invitation to Play Items

  • Winter Sparkly 2 Ingredient Play Dough
  • Wood divided tray
  • Play dough tools (wooden rolling pin, scissors, etc)
  • Snow flake cookie cutter
  • Blue and white star beads
  • Plastic snow flake (or felt if you have them)

I placed all the items in our divided tray/dish  and then set it out on Ellie’s work table area for her to play with. Her favorite thing was to use the scissors and also pushing the white and blue stars into the play dough.

There is really no wrong way to set this up. Just use whatever items you have around your house. If you don’t have a divided tray, just use a cookie sheet. I knew I wanted to set these up monthly so I went ahead and purchased the wooden divider tray, plus it makes for good sorting activities too.

We had a lot of fun with our winter theme this month. If you want to check out all the things I put together you can click on the graphics below:
